Oh, my little darling, oh, my little darling girl
There's not another like you in this whole wide world
And when we're not together, I dream about you in the night
I dream you're in my arms and that we're holding tight

Well I hear you in the rustle of the grasses growing in the field
I smell you in the scent of the orange peel
I see you in the faces of the strangers up and down the street
I feel you in the soles of my tired feet

I hope that you are happy because I know that you are doing fine
And I'm not surprised to see your brilliant design
Because you got the power in you, the light touch and the eye
And the soul to see what others just walk on by

Well the color that I feel is like the inside of a copper mine
When your face is full of smile and your eyes shine
And I'm living in the moment and I'm forgetting all about the past
Because I know this little thing we’ve got is gonna last
